Queensland Map

Welcome to the Queensland Police Vehicle webpage.
Queensland covers approximately 1.7 million square kilometres, representing 25 percent of Australia's land mass and has a population approaching 4 million.

The Queensland Police Service was established in 1864 pursuant to the Police Act 1863 (Qld). The Service now consists of some 9,003 police officers and 3,133 staff members operating under the legislative framework established principally by the Police Service Administration Act 1990 (Qld) and the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 (Qld).

The functions of the Service, outlined in s.2.3 of the Police Service Administration Act, are to preserve peace and good order; protect the community; prevent crime; detect offenders; uphold the law; ensure the fair and efficient administration of law; and provide services in emergency situations.
